Gold Columbia

Wedgwood has been creating iconic tableware for over 260 years with designs that capture the essence of our English heritage while also earning a Royal Warrant by Appointment to Her Majesty the Queen. Gold Columbia is one such striking pattern, originally created by Thomas Allen in the 1880, which draws inspiration from the Classical world with mythical winged dragons, blending this with delicate florals to create a quintessentially English design with timeless, elegant appeal.

Thomas Allen was a renowned figure painter who joined Wedgwood in the 1870s as a designer and painter and soon gained recognition as one of the finest ceramic painters in the industry. Celebrating the British craftsmanship and time-honoured techniques applied at the home of Wedgwood in Barlaston, Stoke on Trent, the Gold Columbia Collection is limited to 1 year in celebration of Wedgwood’s 260th Anniversary.

Reviving Thomas Allen’s original design and embellishing it with hand applied 22 carat gold detailing, this fine bone china collection is the perfect embodiment of the heritage, quality and exceptional skills synonymous with Wedgwood for over two and a half centuries.
